"Wild World is a perfect reflection of Amey’s positive outlook on life and a welcome reminder of the club-life of the early 90’s. Having sneaked out to clubs aged 14 whilst her mother was working on nightshifts, the thrill and energy of clubs as well as her love of dancing have left an indelibly positive impression on Amey, which she’s hopes to transfer to a new generation with Wild World."

"Wild World is like Massive Attack on ecstasy..."- JULES DICKENS

"Wild World is a four track EP that delivers what it sets out to; an uplifting, soul infused group of songs with immense danceability.   The title track bops its way through a wry look at the ever widening gap between rich and poor in three minutes with Amey’s trademark velvet vocals and a great beat."

reviews

"Ms St Cyr specializes in slinky jazzbo soul with urban/grime touches . Songs such as ‘Wild Elephants’ and ‘You’ve Got My Love’ are interesting and catchy as hell pieces…post drum and bass/house riddims and ethereal FX creating a marvelous melancholic mood."- EVENSI

BIOGRAPHY

Amey was well on her way to a successful career in music in the mid-nineties when fate intervened. After giving birth to her daughter, Amey developed crippling postnatal depression and her band broke up, leading to a period of alcohol and drug addiction. Now free from her illness and addiction, she is able to commit herself to music once again.

As well as singing, Amey is also an actor and has appeared in music videos for the likes of Krept & Konan and Big Narstie. She has also recently written and performed a theatrical piece with her daughter Zakia, called Voices Of The Motherland, exploring their relationship and touching upon issues of immigration, race, family and identity.

Amey’s debut release on Key Changes was what would have once been called a double a-side of two tracks:

You Can Get It Girl and No Pain, No Gain.

Available on all major music platforms.
