THE NEW SINGLE FROM AMEY ST. CYR
Life's Too Short
With a sound rooted in positivity and unwavering optimism, Amey St. Cyr has burst back providing some much needed oomph to this year onto the scene when we need her most.
Boasting vocals of top-notch talent, this track is rooted firmly planted in the rising star’s infectious alacrity. The firm foundations of the song lies in its heartfelt message exalting the power of love, faith in the human race and the irrefutable influence of looking out for on a another – and,
oh boy, she does it with style.
"Amey has had an amazing year. She has been the subject of a Radio 4 documentary produced by her daughter, a regular on my radio and TV shows and is doing great musical work for mental health patients. Her banging House music is the perfect vehicle for her gutsy, rangey voice - deep alto one moment, rising up into soprano range the next. And this song, like all her releases this year, has a killa hook that burrows into the brain. Another winner from Amey. "
Amey was well on her way to a successful career in music in the mid-nineties when fate intervened. After giving birth to her daughter, Amey developed crippling postnatal depression and her band broke up, leading to a period of alcohol and drug addiction. Now free from her illness and addiction, she is able to commit herself to music once again.
As well as singing, Amey is also an actor and has appeared in music videos for the likes of Krept & Konan and Big Narstie. She has also recently written and performed a theatrical piece with her daughter Zakia, called Voices Of The Motherland, exploring their relationship and touching upon issues of immigration, race, family and identity.
Amey has had a varied career as a singer, songwriter, actor and model.
